Connections
We recommend having one side of your power line go to a one piece ring rail, and the other come up through the shaft. Here is how we do it.
A wiper connected to one side of the power pack, DC or DCC, it doesn't matter.
The other end of the shaft is connected from the top of the shaft to one of the bridge rails. We especially like the block as it permits the bridge to float a little for uneven bridge rails. The other wire is connected to the ring rail and power is delivered to the other bridge rail via wires from the bogie trucks. This example shows the old shaft brake.
Standard Mounting Example using the NYRS mounting bracket with a brake. Notice that there is a bushing on the pit bottom and also in the little box hanging below. This is a very good shaft support.
